Why are these bears $40? Besides the general fact that they’re handmade, which means a lot of time when into making them. They are also incredibly unique and special to me personally. The sweater of each bear is made with all I had left of a yarn I could barely part with. I hand found just one skein of this beautifully dyed yarn at a shop (I think Wilkos- which of course doesn’t exist anymore) in England. The texture, combined with the way the yarn way dyed have been very different to find anywhere else. In fact I haven’t found another yarn like this since. These body of these bears are made with a yarn that is 80% acrylic and 20% wool. The sweater is also an acrylic/wool blend. The eyes are button eyes, so not ideal for babies or toddlers. I would say safer for kids 6+. These are HANDMADE so there will be imperfections. Eyes, ears and arms may be a little wonky, the stuffing may not be perfectly rounded out. This all just adds to the character and uniqueness of the item.
