Free Heart Crochet Pattern

Two red and one pink crochet heart in front of a white background.

One of my resolutions this year was to design my own crochet pattern. This Valentine’s Day I set myself the task of accomplishing this resolution.

As Valentine’s Day decoration, I had been wanting some floating heart decor - some that were plain but also some that had designs and embellishments. I wanted these “floating” hearts to give a Love is in the Air feel. I wanted them to be flat-ish so that they wouldn't stick out of the wall too much, and that they would to mesh well with a gallery wall type of space. Something I could fill small empty spots with using a command strip that would look whimsical and fun.

Having tried so many different kinds of crochet patterns, making my own turned out to not be as daunting as I thought it would be. Yes, there was some trial and error, but the pattern turned out to be simple enough and exactly what I was imagining!

This free heart crochet pattern is one of the sizes found in my larger packet of heart patterns.
